From Port-au-Prince to North Miami: A Scholar’s Journey

Originally born in Haiti, Dr. Rudolph “Rudy” Moise left his homeland for Chicago to study medicine at the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine. A federal medical grant then allowed him to train for four years at a Miami clinic dedicated to Haitian refugees, an experience that shaped his lifelong commitment to community health.

In 1985 he opened a one-room storefront practice in North Miami; today that clinic has grown into the multi-specialty Comprehensive Health Center and its aesthetic arm, Comprehensive Medical Aesthetics. Never finished learning, Dr. Moise later earned both an MBA and a law degree from the University of Miami, giving him the business and legal insight to navigate modern health-care challenges.

His passion for service also led him into uniform: after completing military flight-surgeon training, he joined the United States Air Force Reserve, where he cared for aircrews for 21 years and retired with the rank of colonel.

Family, Faith & Balance

Away from the clinic lights, Dr. Moise is first and foremost a family man. He and his wife, Mirjam, are proud parents of two children who keep their weekends happily full of school events and beach outings. Those close to him describe a doctor who begins each day with gratitude, schedules regular date nights to stay grounded and treats every patient with the same care he offers at home.
